Northwest Dance Project will premiere four original dance works in their intimate studio and performance center in the heart of the hip Mississippi district over two weekends in June.

“Our in-studio shows have been an incredible success,” says Sarah Slipper, an award-winning choreographer and founding Artistic Director of the Northwest Dance Project. “There is just something so special about seeing the company perform in such an intimate setting and really getting to see how physically demanding dance is and experiencing the emotional and theatrical nuisances of the works.

“All four of the choreographers creating original new works for this program have worked with our company before, so they know what the dancers are capable of doing and can enter their creative process with roles already in mind,” she notes. “And the company loves working with James and Carla and Lauren…and hopefully even me at times!” she jokes, “so I know these shows are going to be great.”
