VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Office Volunteer
The Sentinel is looking for an office friend who can hang out and shoot the poop with us. Non- poop-shooting related responsibilities include, post office runs, filing, answering phones, etc.
Web Volunteer
The Sentinel is a desperately seeking web volunteers with experience in site development including CMS like Drupal or those interested in policing, posting and assisting with the management of the Sentinel’s on-line content.
INTERNSHIPS
Assistant Editor Internship
The Sentinel seeks an Assistant Editor intern for the Spring 2008 semester. Assistant editors are the most feared interns on the staff. They are responsible for coordinating stories and photography among department heads, freelancers, interns and sources. Asst. Editors also maintain some website functions and handle special projects. Most Asst Editors go on to become wildly famous or at least well liked by the editorial staff.
4-month intership, 90-110 hours, $30 intern bonus
PAID POSITIONS
Freelancer Journalist
The Sentinel is always looking for journalists to cover neighborhoods and for a range of stories from hard news, sports, arts and culture and investigative journalism.
Preference will be given to writers with news experience. Please do not pitch opinion pieces or column ideas.
Assignments, filings and interviews are conducted on line. No further queries about job specs are required.
