Trail Blazers, Toyota Unveil Community Resource Center at Jefferson HS
From Press Release:
The Portland Trail Blazers, through a partnership with Toyota and the NBA, will provide a lasting gift to the Jefferson High School community today.
With help from Brandon Roy and Travis Outlaw, the Trail Blazers and Toyota will host a ceremony to unveil a new Community Resource Center at the school. The project is one of 15 community service initiatives being completed league-wide with funding from Toyota Project Rebound.
Funding, volunteers and support from Toyota Project Rebound allowed the Trail Blazers to oversee the construction, design and refurbishment – including new computers and furniture - of the center, which will serve as a community resource/meeting room for students and community groups alike.
The sighting of Jefferson for the Toyota Project Rebound initiative was inspired by Jefferson students who initiated a meeting with Trail Blazers President Larry Miller to discuss the need for a multi-purpose room that could adequately host after-school programs.
