REGARDING THE DETERIORATING HOUSES ON ARGYLE WAY, a letter is being sent to the owners of these, as they are dangerous and are now a building violation. Once the letter is sent, the owner will have 30 days to either demolish, move or bring into compliance. Failing this, a hearing will be held to request demolition. In the meantime, if you would like to voice a formal complaint to be added to this issue, please call Lisa Delbert of BDS at 503-823-7891. If we keep up the pressure, results will eventually occur.

NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING Re: CHASE HOUSE. For anyone concerned about the future of 9126 N Chase as a support-group home managed by NARA, Homeforward will be hosting a Q&A meeting Wed 7pm at the Firehouse. Bring your concerns & questions to this meeting to make sure a Good Neighbor Agreement can be successful.

ATTN: FERAL CAT CARETAKERS... The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon (FCCO) & The Pongo Fund are giving feral cat caregivers free cat food thoughout Jan 2012, when they bring in a feral cat to be spayed or neutered. A cat can be safely spayed or neutered as early as two months old. FCCO loans traps and can assist caregivers with both single cats and/or large colonies.

NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT: WEIRD LOCAL CRIME SPREE
Vehicle License Plates are being stolen locally to be put on vehicles stolen elsewhere. So that the missing plates are not detected, the stolen vehicle plates are put in their place. Police are aware of this crime spree, so if you get pulled over for vehicle theft, they can easily verify correct registration.

Please take note of your vehicle license plate numbers, both front and back, and notify Portland Police immediately if you identify a problem.

KENTON ROSE GARDEN recently gained a new neighborhood steward. Follow the link below to the Rose Garden Facebook page... the Rose Garden will be seeing some new energy, providing new maintenance, and will be seeking new support---even if that support is a friendly "Hello" as you pass by!!!

The Kenton neighborhood was established by beef processing plants and sales until recently. Historical information on the garden has not been located thus far. Any help in finding historical information is greatly appreciated.
